Welcome to the discussion about the historical memory and the remembrance of totalitarian regime victims
Embassy of Lithuania in Stockholm together with the Swedish Lithuanian youth community invite you to the discussion on the historical memory and the remembrance of totalitarian regime victims. We will focus our discussion on stalinism, soviet genocide and its impact to current political developments in the Eastern Europe. The discussion will be held on 1 December 2015 at 17.30 in the residence of Ambassador of Lithuania (address: Strandvägen 53, Stockholm). The guests from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia Tomas Martinatis, Rasa Dace Kiesnere ir Kadi Nool , participants of the project”Mission Siberia‘15“, will share their experiences from the project.
Project “Mission Siberia” is being organized already for nine years and aims to foster historical memory and patriotism among Lithuanian youth. Twelve expeditions have been held to the sites in Russia Federation, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan were Lithuanians were deported and imprisoned. The members of the expeditions visited and took care of around 100 burial sites where Lithuanians are buried. More information about the project: http://2015.misijasibiras.lt/about-the-project
