United Nations Security Council – how small states can generate big impact

The Ambassador of Lithuania, Mr. Eitvydas Bajarunas, and the United Nations Association of Sweden have the pleasure of inviting you to a seminar on Sweden’s candidacy to the United Nations Security Council "United Nations Security Council – how small states can generate big impact"

Meet Ms. Annika Söder, State Secretary at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Mr. Neris Germanas, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lithuania, in a dialogue on Sweden’s candidacy to the UN Security Council. The seminar will discuss the effect of small countries taking an active role in the international community. What challenges and possibilities lie ahead of Sweden’s candidacy and how could Sweden learn from Lithuania’s experience at the Security Council? Could the Nordic-Baltic cooperation be extended to the UN? Does an active role in the UN negatively affect our engagement in the European Union?
