The Lithuanian Development Agency among best-performing business promotion agencies worldwide
The Lithuanian Development Agency is among Top 3 government investment promotion intermediaries worldwide showing the greatest progress in attracting mobile investment and also No. 12 among 181 agencies, the Global Investment Promotion Benchmarking 2009 report shows.
Lithuania is named among middle-income countries, including also Brazil, Colombia, and Turkey that are showing immense progress in competing for mobile investment by providing increasingly professional services and accurate information to potential investors.
The Austrian Business Agency emerged as number one worldwide, based on the reports rankings.
The report, prepared by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, and published this month, assesses the response of the national business promotion agencies to two potential projects � inquiries by a software developer seeking to expand operations in each country (25%) and a beverage manufacturing company (25%), as well as online information provision (50%).
The report finds that over 70 % of government investment promotion intermediaries out of 181 investigated miss out on investment and job-creating opportunities by failing to provide accurate and timely information to potential investors.
