Lituanian priorities in the field of defence and security policy presented in Stockholm

On the 21st of September Lithuanian Embassy in Stockholm, which is currently conducting the functions of NATO Contact Point Embassy in Sweden, organized a round table discussion. Lithuanian Vice Minister for foreign affairs Andrius Krivas presented the priorities of Lithuanian security and defense policy. He also presented the assessment of the security situation in the region, an overview of the main issues of NATO agenda and informed about the preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius.

 

Acoording to A.Krivas, NATO remains the main guarantor of security in the region, and Sweden is one of the most important partners of the Alliance.

The representatives of one of Sweden's largest NGO "Society and Defence" (Folk och Försvar) which is working with the security and defense policy, participated in the discussion. In the end of September organization's delegation will visit Poland and Lithuania.
