Lithuanian theatre play "He and She" in Sweden
The performance according work and letters of Jonas Biliūnas (1879-1907) and his wife Julija Janulaitytė-Biliūnienė (1880-1978) will be performed at the Eesti Maja in Stockholm (Wallingatan 32 ) on 24th May, 6 p.m. Script writer and director - Birutė Mar, actorsBirute Mar and Aleksas Kasanavičius in the presence of violinist Sigitas Rubis, scenography and costumes Indrė Pačėsaitė. The play was inspired by the reminiscences of Julija Janulaitytė-Biliūnienė, as well as Jonas and Julija postcards were sent to each other fromKharkov, Anykščiai,Leipzig,Berlin,Zurich, Zakopane. Almost a century ago and just a few years lasted soft and sensuous love story reminds romantic Romeo and Juliet story. Performance will be shown in Helsingborg at the end of May. The tour inSwedenis organized by Lithuanian community inSwedenand its branch in Skåne. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of theRepublicofLithuania, in the presence the Embassy of theRepublicofLithuaniato theKingdomofSweden.
