Lithuanian priorities in the fields of security and defense were presented for the members of Swedish Atlantic Council

On January 21, 2013, meeting with the members of Swedish Atlantic Council (SAC) took place at the residence of Lithuanian Ambassador to Sweden Eitvydas Bajarūnas. This event is a part of the agenda of Lithuanian Embassy as NATO contact point embassy (CPE) in Sweden. E. Bajarūnas has overviewed the priorities in the fields of security and defense, presented the most important issues for Lithuania in NATO’s and EU’s security and defense policies agendas, informed about Lithuanian participation in international operations. Secretary General of SAC ambassador Mats Åberg and President of SAC ambassador Michael Sahlin informed about activities of their organization. E. Bajarūnas has also informed about activities of NATO Energy Security Center of Excellence in Vilnius, which became fully operational on January 1, 2013, and will be open for NATO partner countries. Ambassador has stressed that Swedish experience in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency and modern technologies would be extremely important.

 

In the context of NATO CPE Ambassador Eitvydas Bajarūnas has made a presentation in the common conference of SAC and Folk och Försvar “Trends in the Baltic Sea Region” on the 12th of December 2012. E. Bajarūnas and Head of Lithuanian Representation to NATO ambassador Kęstutis Jankauskas were invited to Folk och Försvar annual conference in Sälen.
