Lithuanian language was presented in Stockholm
On the 26th of September 2012 the annual European Day of Languages event was organized in Stockholm by Swedish National Education Agency, European Commission Representation Office and Goethe Institute together with the foreign embassies and cultural centers. Representatives of the Lithuanian embassy in Sweden presented the Lithuanian language at the event. Participants had an opportunity to learn a few basic Lithuanian phrases and listen to the unique part of Lithuanian cultural heritage – folk glee songs (lt. sutartinės). Lithuanian ambassador Eitvydas Bajarūnas honoured the event and the guests by his visit as well.
The event was intended for students of secondary schools on purpose to introduce the high variety of foreign European languages, promote smaller unpopular languages, introduce cultural heritage, as well as stimulate the desire of learning more different languages.
