Lithuanian Help celebrates 20 th anniversary
Dear Members of the Litauenhjälpen and the Lithuanian Swedish Association, Allow me to congratulate all of you on the 20th anniversary of the Litauenhjälpen organization. You are a great example of what people-to-people initiatives are capable of achieving. Lithuania has had its difficult times; there has often been a shortage of everything. When Lithuania gained independence two decades ago and the borders opened, you visited our country and felt you could help. We appreciate your material help very much; however, what we think matters most to a person in need is that someone cares about his or her problems, someone even outside their own country, who is a friend prepared to come into his or her assistance.
