Lithuanian Ambassador in Sweden presented Lithuanian EU Presidency priorities in Malmö
On June 14, 2013, Lithuanian Ambassador in Sweden Eitvydas Bajarūnas visited the third largest Swedish city Malmö, where at the meetings with the city municipality, business representatives and academic community presented priorities of Lithuanian EU Presidency.During the visit, Ambassador and General Consul of Lithuania Ingmar Imgstad, met with the Mayor of Malmö Kent Andersson. They have shared the views on promotion of regional cooperation between southern Sweden and Lithuania. Also, Lithuanian and Swedish business opportunities were presented during the work lunch with the South Swedish Chamber of Commerce representatives. Sweden is the largest investor in Lithuania. Malmö and Skåne region of southern Sweden is one of the most actively developing region of the country, which not only retains their traditional industry, but also actively develops science-intensive technologies.
Lithuania's EU presidency priorities were also presented at the meetings with the World Maritime University’s lecturers and students.
Malmö is one of the most industrialized cities in Scandinavia, located in the southernmost part of Sweden.
