About the topic:

War hero, award-winning bilingual author, filmmaker and French diplomat, Romain Gary wrote under many names and lived in many places. He was born in multicultural Vilnius in 1914. In his autobiographical fiction, particularly in Promise at Dawn, Gary revealed the formative impact of his early years in Vilnius on his life-long project of constant self-reinvention (not even stopped by his suicide).

About the presenter:

Karolis Klimka is a lecturer and translator based Vilnius. He studied World Literature at Vilnius University, lectured at European Humanities University in Vilnius, and worked as a translator in Brussels. He is currently a lecturer at Vilnius College of Design.
