Embassy of Lithuania to Sweden promoted cooperation between European Humanities University and Swedish institutions

On the 26-28 of March Ambassador of Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Sweden Eitvydas Bajarūnas and Rector of European Humanities University (EHU) Prof. Anatoli Mikhailov met with representatives of relevant Swedish institutions to promote cooperation with EHU. Embassy of Lithuania organized a meeting with members of Swedish Parliament (Riksdag), also with delegates of state institutions, non-governmental organizations and representatives of Uppsala University. During the meetings possible support for EHU activities as well as opportunities for cooperation including student exchange and commemoration of the 20th anniversary of EHU in Sweden were discussed.

EHU was established in Minks in 1992. University was forced to cease its activities in Byelorussia in 2004. But by courtesy of political, organizational and financial support of Lithuanian Government, European Commission, other European countries, public USA funds and organizations EHU resume its activities in Lithuania in 2005 and offer bachelor and master degree programs. In February 2006 EHU was given a status of Lithuanian University.
