Embassy of Lithuania in Stockholm honored Nobel Prize winner with Lithuanian roots
Lithuanian Embassy in Stockholm honored the winner of 2013 Nobel Prize in economy, Yale University professor Robert Shiller on December 7. The gathering was attended by Lithuanian community representatives in Sweden, Swedish businessmen and diplomats, together with R.Shiller’s family and fellow scientists from the USA. The scientist with Lithuanian roots will attend the annual Nobel Prize ceremony on December 10 in Stockholm. Lithuanian Ambassador in Stockhom Eitvydas Bajarūnas noted to the guests that the scientist was raised in Lithuanian environment, and the news about an American with Lithuanian roots winning Nobel Prize delighted the people of Lithuania.
R. Shiller was invited to Lithuania by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, where he will attend official meetings and lectures on December 13-16.
