Day of Restoration of Independence of Lithuania was marked in Halmstad
On March 11, 2014, Restoration of Independence of Lithuania was marked in Halmstad. During his visit in Halmstad Ambassador has also discussed strengthening of regional ties. To mark the occasion representatives from local authorities, business and cultural sectors as well as Lithuanian community have gathered in Halmstad Castle. Ambassador of Lithuania Eitvydas Bajarūnas, Vice-Governor of Halland region Lisbeth Schultze and Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Halmstad Evert Grahn congratulated participants of the reception. During his visit to Halmstad Ambassador Bajarūnas has also met officials of Halland region and Halmstad city. He has presented the key priorities of Lithuanian foreign policy, economic situation and investment environment in Lithuania as well as discussed future cooperation with the Halland region. The Ambassador also visited Rotary Club, gave a lecture at Halmstad technical military school.
According to the Ambassador, regional relations, direct contacts between businesses, educational institutions and non-governmental organizations are very important elements of bilateral relations. He stressed that this visit is an unique opportunity to present Lithuania and its key strategic goals.
E.Bajarūnas had the meeting with the representatives of the major businesses companies in the city, where he presented investment climate in Lithuania and discussed possible co-operation. Ambassador visited the Science Park of Halmstad.
