Cooperation between Stockholm and Klaipėda cities discussed in Sweden
On the 29th of May 2012, Mayor of Klaipėda City V. Grubliauskas met with Lord Mayor of Stockholm Margareta Björk. The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Sweden Eitvydas Bajarūnas.During the meeting which was organized in cooperation with Embassy of Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Sweden cooperation perspectives between Stockholm and Klaipėda was discussed.
Meeting was also attended by the delegates of “Mission for Hope” which is organized by St. Francis Assisi Monastery. Participants of the mission are visiting Sweden and Finland by a sail-boat from the 25th of May till the 6th of June. The main goals of "Mission for Hope" are promoting Klaipėda as a sea port city and Lithuania as a sea country, visit monasteries and churches established by Franciscan monks in the Northern Europe, to spotlight pollution of the Baltic Sea, etc.
