Baltic Network was established in Riksdag
Ambassador of Lithuania Eitvydas Bajarūnas together with Ambassador of Latvia Maija Manika and Deputy Head of Estonian Embassy Marje Luup particpated in the inaugural meeting of Baltic Network in Riksdag. Around 30 members of Riksdag from different political parties were present in the meeting. It was decided that Head of Baltic Network will be represenative of Moderate Party Mats Johansson. Socialdemocrat Urban Ahlin will act as his deputy. E. Bajarūnas in his statement pointed out that increasing regional cooperation between Nordic and Baltic states will be supplemented by parliamentary dimesnion. He has also informed about establishment of Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with Nordic States in Lithuanian Seimas. Develpment of Nordic and Baltic cooperation, EU policies, regional security, energy, etc. were indicated as the key topics for inter-parliamentary cooperation.
In November 2012 Ambassador of Lithuania E. Bajarūnas together with Latvian and Estonian ambassadors has initiated the meeting with several members of Riksdag to discuss the future regional cooperation, including strengthening relations among national Parliaments.
