Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Sweden honored memory of Raoul Wallenberg

On the 4th of August Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of Sweden Eitvydas Bajarūnas attended the ceremony of 100 years birth anniversary of Raoul Wallenberg a well known Swedish public figure and diplomat. As a diplomat in Hungary during the World War II he rescued thousands of Jewish people. The event was attended by Crown Princess Victoria, Speaker of Riksdag Per Westerberg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Jonas Björklund as well as Wallenberg family members and representatives of R. Wallenberg Academy. Official ceremony was ended with oratorio “Righteous” the author of which is Lithuanian Jewish Boris Borisov.
