Ambassador of Lithuanian in Sweden Eitvydas Bajarūnas promoted economic and cultural relations with Karlskrona
On the 6th of September 2012 Ambassador of Lithuanian in Sweden Eitvydas Bajarūnas visited Karlskrona, where he met Mayor of the city Camilla Brunsberg, other representatives of municipality as well as representatives of the city port. During the meeting most of the attention has been devoted to the development of regional cooperation between different Lithuanian regions and Karlskrona city. Ambassador has presented the main Lithuanian priorities for forthcoming EU Presidency in 2013, as well as announced the results of the Nordic-Baltic (NB8) cooperation during the Lithuanian’s coordination period. Furthermore, the economic situation and possibilities for investing in Lithuania have been also presented. The idea of opening new ferry lines to Klaipėda was discussed with representatives from private ferry companies. Ambassador Eitvydas Bajarūnas has also paid a visit to ABB AB, High Voltage Cables, which won a public tender to manufacture an electric cable for the NordBalt electricity interconnection project between Lithuania and Sweden.
The second part of the visit has been dedicated for the annual Lithuanian-Swedish association forum. The purpose of this Association is to unite individuals and companies that seek to establish stronger connections between Lithuania and Sweden in business, environment, education and culture areas, as well as to develop the already existing charity work.
