Ambassador of Lithuania presented Lithuanian candidature for the seat in the UN Security Council in 2014-2015
On April 24, Ambassador of Lithuania has met with representatives of Embassies accredited for Lithuania and Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs to present the candidature of Lithuania for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council, allocated to the Eastern European States Group, for the term of 2014-2015. Ambassador has stressed experience of Lithuania in heading international organizations and its structures - OSCE, Community of Democracies, UN ECOSOC, etc. - as well as participation in the number of different peace-keeping missions. He informed about foreseen Lithuanian priorities. Participants of the event has stressed Lithuanian experience in peace keeping missions and ability to serve as the honest broker as key advantages.
